Bulletproof Custard: Liquid Armor That Can Stop Bullets [Bulletproof]

Must be my lucky day for really cool stuff to post.  Gizmodo  has a new article on Liquid Armor.  So cool.  I want one.  Don’t need one, and will probably never be in a gun fight in my entire life, but hey, I’m and Eagle Scout and I need to be prepared.  At lest that is how I’m going to approach my wife with the suggested purchase.

Epic Win app turns your life into an RPG to help you attack your to-do list

I just read this article from Download Squad.   It is about a new software that turns your life into an RPG.  What a great idea.  I mean for nerds,  not that I’m totally going to download this and try it out.  It’s not like I’m a nerd or anything.    Check out the link below for the article or just watch the video.

Browser war heating up again. This time IE 9 vs Chrome

Things are getting better.  I love this browser war that is currently going on.  For those that don’t know.  Ever since Google Chrome has come out, things in the browser would have heated up a lot.  If you want to be a browser of the future you need two things;  HTML 5 Compatibility and speed.

Why does this matter, for one, if you’ve never created a web page before you don’t understand the headache you get from trying to make very browser happy.  HTML 5 compatibility means less headache and more cool features.  Second speed, is always good.

So why am I making this post.  Because I just read an article at Maximum PC on how IE 9 Beta is beating Chrome on Canvas speed.  We are talking an HTML 5 aspect better on Internet Explorer.  Now I really don’t support Internet Explorer because Microsoft has never really done a good job with it.  Most people use it, just because it is already on there computer.  But with IE coming around, this will make web developers life easier and users life full of more fun.  To me it is a win, win.

Again post with videos always seem to do better. So here is a video showing the IE 9 Beta vs Google Chrome.

Google Voice is now available for everyone.

I have been using google voice since it started.  Actually longer, since I started with Grandcentral before google bought them.  I have always loved it.  Now you don’t have to wait for an invite from someone to get your own google voice phone number.  If you don’t know what Google voice is, check out the video below.  Or you can check out the Google Announcement here.

E-Reader Price war! Finally almost affordable e-book readers.

Check out theres two articles on the price drop of the most popular e-readers out there.

Barnes & Noble Intros Wi-Fi-only Nook, Lowers 3G Nook Price – PC World

Kindle Now Just $190 as Ebook Reader Price Wars Get Heated – Gizmodo

It is great that we are finally getting  smoke in the air in this e-book war.  I’m still to cheap to buy a nook or a kindle, but this is a great start.

At this point I think I’m going more for the nook, from a technical standpoint.  Extra color LCD, plus a e-ink display, android powered.  A wi-fi only option to make things cheaper.  Just Like the look more too.

I need to look into cost of e-books.  I think the price comparison would be the same.  But I don’t know.  Maybe that would be a good weekend project for me.
