Posted by nephi513 in Cool Gadgets, In the News on July 10, 2010
Must be my lucky day for really cool stuff to post. Gizmodo has a new article on Liquid Armor. So cool. I want one. Don’t need one, and will probably never be in a gun fight in my entire life, but hey, I’m and Eagle Scout and I need to be prepared. At lest that is how I’m going to approach my wife with the suggested purchase.

18 Button Programmable Mouse and 4,000 Device Charging Station!
Posted by nephi513 in Cool Gadgets on July 2, 2010
Gizmodo has an arctile on there website showing off to crazy computer devices, that I might actualy like to use.

The first is a little crazy. It is an 18 Button programable mouse. There is a picture of it to the right. At first glance I thought, to many buttons, but this thing would be sweet if you were playing a RTS (Real Time Strategy) game. I could also see it being good for FPS (First person shooters), but I would have to try it out first before I said any more.
The second device was more realistic. A three device charging station. The nice thing about this charging stating, is that each charing mount is pluggable, so you can purchase special tips to fit your devices. The say on the website that it already can charge over 4,000 devices, but somehow I doubt it. I could be wrong. It does support microusb, which is just about very new device coming out. So I could be wrong.

I’m not musician, but I know my dad has been wanting a copy of Finale for a long time. He is just to cheap to buy it and I’m to cheap to buy it for him.
Then today, I ran across this opensource version that seems to be perfect. The software is called MuseScore and it is completely free (Well of course it is free, it’s opensource, I just know some of you people don’t know what opensource means.)
I know you people like videos so here is an into to it and here is the link to the homepage.

I have been using google voice since it started. Actually longer, since I started with Grandcentral before google bought them. I have always loved it. Now you don’t have to wait for an invite from someone to get your own google voice phone number. If you don’t know what Google voice is, check out the video below. Or you can check out the Google Announcement here.

Check out theres two articles on the price drop of the most popular e-readers out there.
Barnes & Noble Intros Wi-Fi-only Nook, Lowers 3G Nook Price – PC World
Kindle Now Just $190 as Ebook Reader Price Wars Get Heated – Gizmodo
It is great that we are finally getting smoke in the air in this e-book war. I’m still to cheap to buy a nook or a kindle, but this is a great start.
At this point I think I’m going more for the nook, from a technical standpoint. Extra color LCD, plus a e-ink display, android powered. A wi-fi only option to make things cheaper. Just Like the look more too.
I need to look into cost of e-books. I think the price comparison would be the same. But I don’t know. Maybe that would be a good weekend project for me.
